Stefano Lombardi Vallauri

Stefano Lombardi Vallauri is a theorist, critic and composer of contemporary music. He studied musicology (MA DAMS, Bologna; PhD, Lecce) and composition (Cesena and Bologna Conservatories). At present he is research fellow at the IULM University of Milan, where he has taught since 2003. As well as studying particular authors, he investigates the aesthetics and analysis of music in both academic and non-academic contexts, considering music both as a repertory of works and as experience and communications system. From 2003 to 2007 he contributed to the Tuscan page of the daily newspaper «L'Unità». He cooperates with contemporary music festivals such as “Exitime”, Bologna and “Suoni e Visioni”, Genoa, and has been musical director of radio programmes (for RAI Radio3) and theatrical productions.
