Giacomo Albert

Giacomo Albert is a PhD student in Musicology at the Università di Pavia, studying the relationship between videoart and avantgarde music with particular reference to the output of Nam June Paik, Robert Cahen and Bill Viola. He graduated in Musicology at the Università di Pavia with a thesis on the relationship between technology and composition in the music of Marco Stroppa, and holds a diploma in Music and New Technologies from the Conservatorio G.F. Ghedini, Cuneo, featuring the theory and history of audio installations. In addition to his theoretical pursuits, he composes and stages electronic music and audiovisual installations.
