The research intends to carry out a critical examination of the methods of intervening in the defence of food safety in Japan following the nuclear incident in Fukushima. Starting with a concise presentation of the parties involved, the intervention procedures and the problems at the level of coordination, speed of reaction and communication, it discusses the critical issues that have emerged and the lessons that can be learned from the Japanese experience.
