Area Riservata

The laboratory was formerly part of the Institute of Pharmacology, founded by prof. G. Benzi, and was housed in the center of Pavia, in piazza Botta 11, in a deconsecrated church called “Certosina”.

The Church is at few steps from the building where Camillo Golgi used to work. In 2010, the lab was relocated in via Ferrata in the new complex of buildings called “Botta 2” or Scientific Pole. Since 2012 the lab is part of the Dept. of Biology and Biotechnology “L. Spallanzani”.

Main research interests are the study of mitochondrial energy metabolism and its involvement in motor neuron degeneration and,  the discovery of new molecular targets to address selected therapeutic strategies.
