The summer school “Imagining the Ideal City –
Architectural and urban hypothesis on the ancient ideal cities” is an
international design workshop on the ideal city of Aristotle thought
(Politics). The focus is to study and to design utopic “Poleis” starting from the shape of the ancient greek cities. Student will be guide from professors and
researchers of different disciplines as Architecture, Hystory
and Archaeology. Starting from the Aristotele’s
thought students will design hypothesis of ideal cities of the ancient time
studying the archeological sites of 4 cities (Metaponto, Agrigento, Mileto
and Olinto) and introducing changes. The projects of ideal city will be represented
by hand and computer drawings and 3d models (using a 3d printer at
disposition of students). International delegation At the international Summer School will participate
4 internationale delegation of students and
professors from University of Pavia (Italy), Politecnico
of Milano (Italy), Politechnika Opolska
(Poland), Université de Strasbourg (France). Every delegation is composed by 4 students. Ospitality University of Pavia will cover the expenses for
travel and accomodation for the all period of the
activities of workshop to 8 students coming from abroad and to 1 professor
for every delegation. Place The activities of the Summer School will be
held at University of Pavia and in the civic building “Broletto”
in the city center. Results Results of Summer School will be published and
